The Sisters of Success Literary Review Club (SOS) was established in February 2004 and the first meeting was held February 17th, 2004.  At this meeting, the foundation for the club was laid and the first book, ROSES ARE THORNS, VIOLETS ARE TRUE by Sheila M. Goss, was selected for the March meeting.  As the old saying goes, "the rest is history"!!

The primary purpose of the Sisters of Success Literary Review Club (SOS) is to encourage literacy in the community by volunteering to read to children and adults in the local orphanages and senior citizen homes.

The Sisters of Success Literary Review Club also focuses on supporting local African American authors and African American bookstores that are quickly becoming extinct.

While we maintain a focus on African American authors, we strive to broaden the reading scope of our members by not restricting the book selections to only African American authors.

We members of the Sisters of Success Literary Review Club strive to enhance literacy within ourselves, as well as, in our community.
